Sam Lamonto, a long-standing HWSCC member and tournament director, holds several tournaments throughout the year in locations spanning all across central Pennsylvania. His tournaments are known for being well organized, and often include features such as free lunch and snacks, door prizes, and a large book sale.

Since Sam’s tournaments have remained popular over the years and share a distinctive quality and atmosphere, the following list has been provided for his upcoming events.

Silver Lake Quads
One day event, 3 round robin, time control G40/80 sudden death/30.
Tournament Details

Harrisburg Open
Two day event, 5 round swiss. Will be held sometime in mid-March to mid April…$2,000 guaranteed prize fund. Potentially an annual event.

Susquehanna Valley Open
Two day event, 5 round swiss, time control G/120. Usually the last full weekend in July. 2011 date is not confirmed yet. Inexpensive student housing is available at the Honeysuckle apartment complex where the event is held.

White Rose Open
Not yet confirmed for 2011… One day event, 4 round swiss, time control G/60. There is a separate scholastic section. Most likely will be held November if it is held this year.
