Camp Curtin YMCA March 2010 Results

There was another FREE tournament at the Camp Curtain Branch YMCA on Saturday March 27, 2010.

We had seven participants in the Student Section. The student participants were Dontae Davis, Dhanush Bathala, Akhilesh Mulgund, Om Salunkhe, Ning Ning Liu, Samuel Shvartsman, and Mike Fuller, Samuel won 1st place with a 6 – 0 result and Ning Ning Liu took second place with a 5 – 1 result. They each received a trophy for their success; Samuel was awarded $10 and Ning Ning was awarded $5 cash prizes additionally.

In the Open Section, we had 16 participants with Joseph Mucerino taking 1st overall with a 4 1/2 – 1/2 result He was awarded $40. Edmund Chong and Gary Waters shared second place with a 3 1/2 – 1 1/2 results and each were awarded $10. Odell Greene and Michael Koplitz shared the class prizes with a 3 – 2 result getting a cash prize of $12.50 each. Michael won the class trophy with a sudden death 5 minute blitz game. In the unrated section, Carlton Ray won the trophy and the $15 prize with a 3 1/2 – 11/2 result. Second place unrated prize of $10 was awarded to Calvin Brown with a 3 -2 results.

The next FREE Camp Curtin Branch YMCA tourneys is scheduled for Saturday April 24th. Registration is 9:15 am – 9:45 am on the day of the event.
